It's a wrap!

Wednesday 26th October's progress:

The house is wrapped (& so are we!)
More bricks
Hot water pipes

Amazing to think we had a plain block of land only 5 weeks ago!

and here's some pictures:

Our wrapped house!

From the driveway

A closer look at the front - with some brickwork at the garage to be seen.

Knew he would have fun getting over the sand

25th October - has Christmas come 2 months early???

It does seem like Christmas has come early.....as we now have a Roof, Blue Paper, Bricks, Water & Gas!!

9.55am - 25th October 2011

9.55am - Looking down the driveway

12pm - Looking down the driveway with roofing taking place

On closer inspection - we notice the brickies are on site - & we have some blue paper in the distance!

Just after 5pm - most of the colorbond is on & the roofing guys were still on site!

6.15pm - looking good!

Making our way over the pile of sand that is in the middle of the driveway. How much fun would the boys have in that??

W wanted to know why there was a cement mixer on site! I was very excited to tell him that it was because we were getting bricks laid!

On our inspection inside we see the plumbing has been done.  This is the laundry

Pipes

Water pipes (the black ones) and the soil pipe/stack thingy (the white one)

Kitchen - plumbing

Water pipe for the fridge.  The yellow pipe above is the gas pipe heading over to the hot plates

Tap outside the laundry

Outside tap just outside the ensuite - with running water

Bricks!!!!!  (Selkirk Indigo in case you were wondering!)

From the south west corner looking back towards the garage and along the south wall.

It looks like they are wrapping the house as they go.

A wrapped wall and a lovely looking brick wall.

Really pleased with the colour of the bricks - can't wait til the mortar has dried and the bricks have been cleaned to see the finished result.

Our jagged roofline

Blue paper along the garage

Colorbond Jigsaw pieces. I do feel sorry for our roofing guys - it's not the easiest of roofs!

Bed 4 - all wrapped and very much a 'room'! I had to use the flash as I was indoors!!!

Is it too early to want to sell?

We visited the block yesterday afternoon and came across an unexpected and completely unwelcome visitor:
It was huge!!!

Am now hoping that its demise will serve a warning to any of its friends who are thinking of taking up residence!!

Meanwhile - we have decided to keep the awning window in the meals area as is...but we want to change the front door to how it should be on the plan.  The way it is now means you can see from the driveway thru the house, whereas if it is changed, you have to be on the front porch to be able to see through the side window. (if that makes sense!!)

While we were making this decision, someone else was having fun in the puddle in the garage:

We are now looking forward to what progress we see this week! :)
